The transformation of the Transpraia Hangar

As part of our initiatives for urban regeneration through art, CAPA is proud to announce one of its first major projects: the transformation of the Transpraia hangar. Once abandoned but showcasing beautiful and powerful architecture from the 1960s, this space will be the focus of an ambitious regeneration project. Through art and creativity, CAPA aims to transform the hangar into a cultural center and art residency, turning it into a living testament to the power of art to reimagine and bring new meaning to forgotten spaces, returning them to the community.

By the sea

By the Sea was the first exhibition that took place at the old Hangar of  Transpraia in collaboration with Underdogs gallery. From October 18 to 20, the iconic Transpraia hangar in Costa da Caparica hosted the exhibition "Bt the sea" by artist Kampus, curated by Underdogs Gallery. The event presented works inspired by the historic railway and the sea, blending seamlessly with the hangar’s distinctive atmosphere. With free admission, visitors had a special opportunity to experience the meeting of art and history in this extraordinary location.
